Classification of low carbon steel plates

According to the thickness, it is divided into: thick plate (above 6mm), medium and thick plate (3-6mm) and thin plate (below 3mm).

According to the process, it is divided into: cold-rolled steel plate, hot-rolled steel plate. Cold-rolled steel plates are generally used for parts that require a large degree of material deformation when forming parts, and there should be no wrinkles, cracks, etc. on the surface. For different parts, different grades of steel plates are used, such as: SPCC is a common cold-rolled steel plate, usually rolled by boiling steel; SPCD is a steel plate for rolling; SPCE or SPCEN is a cold-rolled steel plate for deep drawing.

Rotation of mild steel plate

The drawing and spinning test of a variety of low carbon steel sheets with different metallographic and mechanical properties was carried out, and the following points directly related to the spinnability were obtained.

a. The maximum elongation strain of aluminum-killed steel sheets of general purity exceeds 250% during deep-spinning.

b. The ultimate elongation of the boiling steel sheet with a slightly poorer purity decreases with the increase of the oxygen content of the steel sheet.

c. As soon as the grains of the steel sheet are coarsened, the forming limit decreases.

d. The total elongation, n value and r value in the mechanical properties of the steel sheet have no direct influence on the forming limit of spinning.

The steel plate used in the test is very thin (about 0.5mm), and the steel plate of common thickness (0.8-1.6mm) will definitely be much higher than the above extreme limit.
